iPad Tip 41 - Preview More of Your Mail

The iPad's Mail app defaults to previewing two lines of each email before you tap on it. Sometimes however it would be handier to be able to see more of an email before loading the whole thing in, especially if you are on a slow connection. To do this open the Settings app, then tap on Mail, Contacts, Calendars and change the Preview options to add more lines.

iPad Tip 40 - Back it Up

Make sure your iPad's data is properly backed up. When you're connected to your Mac or PC, open up iTunes and right-click on your iPad in the Devices list and select Back up. You don't need to worry about Apps you've downloaded or any purchases - videos, music - they're always available to you from Apple. Content you've created, such as photos and videos is what's important and at risk of loss when the iPad dies. You can also use an offsite service.

By going to Settings > Notifications, you can decide which apps can pop up alerts, which have notifications at the top of the screen, and which appear in Notification Center. iPad Tip 33 - Home Sharing

Turn on Home Sharing in iTunes (Advanced menu) on your computer and on your iPad (Settings > Music/Video and enter your Apple ID). Next, launch the Music or Video app on your iPad. In the Music App, tap the "More" button at the bottom, find the little house with "Shared" next to it. Tap on that and then on one of the Shared Libraries. It might take a few seconds to update, but then you can listen to all of that Library's media on your iPad. For video, tap the Shared tab at the top of the screen. Enjoy!

iPad Tip 32 - Create Folders

This one is pretty basic: to create a folder all you need to do is tap and hold on an App until they all start to jiggle, then drag the app over another icon and release.
Your iPad will create a folder with both the Apps in it. The folder will be named according to the category of the Apps it contains, but you can rename it as you like. How many Apps can you have in a folder and how many folders can you have? Read it here - http://tinyurl.com/pttk6fs

iPad Tip 29 - Be All Thumbs

I have seen some really fast typing done by all thumbs but the iOS keyboard doesn’t quite facilitate that for most people. However, you can split the keyboard into two halves and move it around on your iPad screen. Simply press and hold the keyboard icon on the lower right side of the keyboard and choose“Split” and it will separate into two halves. You can stick it back together by pinching it together or by pressing and holding the keyboard icon. Your other choice is to“Undock” or“Dock”which means you can move the keyboard anywhere on the screen or move it back. You can also use your thumbs to "pull" the keyboard apart.
