A BIG Pat On Our Back!

Apple again honored Capitol Mac's service department with a Commitment to Excellence Award for the impeccable accuracy and great turnaround speed of repairs performed by our technicians. Apple has a program to track the performance of its authorized service providers, and Capitol Mac fit into the top 3% of all providers in North America for the fourth quarter of this year! To put that into perspective, Apple authorizes over 2,500 service providers in North America, not including Apple Stores.

Apple's rating of service provider performance includes many metrics and an algorithm that produces a percentage of expectations ranging from 0% to 165%, and we were right at the top: 165%!

“We're honored to receive this award of distinction based on our performance record,” states David Smith, President of Capitol Mac. “I commend each member of our staff for their unwavering dedication to customer service. We are committed to delivering premium Apple products and services to customers throughout the mid-Michgan area.” Capitol Macintosh has received the Commitment to Excellence award every time since Apple initiated the program.

Capitol Macintosh is an Authorized Apple Reseller, Authorized Apple Service Provider and member of the elite Apple Specialist group.

Top 25 Overlooked and Underrated Leopard Features

About five months ago, Macintosh lovers finally got their hands on Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard," which boasts more than 300 new features spread across its interface and underpinnings. Some of those features are well-known -- the Dock's "stacks" function, Spaces, Time Machine and Screen Sharing, to name some of those most talked about by users and columnists alike. But many others are buried just beneath the surface, unknown or ignored by users even though they've had Leopard installed for months. The Woz Interview

Knowledge@Wharton, the online business journal of The Wharton School, has published an interview with Steve "Woz" Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, notorious prankster and a somewhat reluctant entrepreneur. It's one of the more in-depth interviews with him that I've read, covering the past, present and future, his relationship with Steve Jobs, his unique brand of humor and digging for further insights on otherwise ubiquitous information.

If you woke up this morning wishing you could peer inside the mind of a major player in the history of personal computing, and hoping for a dash of humor and a side of Apple insights, you're in luck. And if you never read iWoz, this interview is practically a CliffsNotes ... so you can pretend you had the fortitude to at least peruse the 288-page tome.

MacHeads, the movie

Coming soon to a theatre near you: MacHeads, the movie. This religious Apple phenomenon is fascinating, and MacHeads looks like it has been well-made. I'm convinced that I saw an expected release date last night, but can't seem to find that anymore this morning. So, for now, we're not sure when the full movie will be out, and whether it will be available on the 'Net first or not. I do, however, plan to watch it. Do you?
